Why saving your history changes how you play

Without a history, "I'm improving" is intuition. You may have spent three weeks with the same brawler and feel you're getting better, but the Brawl Stars API only shows the last 25 matches. Bad recent day? The app says you're tilting. Good one? Says the opposite. Neither reading is the truth. With a month of saved history, the noise of the last day stops mattering and the real pattern (win rate per brawler, per map, per hour of day) emerges.

The other common case is tilt. After four losses in a row, the brain tends to keep picking the same brawler hoping to "make it back". An hour-of-day history breakdown helps spot that pattern: many players have a normal win rate at 9pm and 7-8 points worse past midnight. That observation comes only from comparing temporal samples that don't fit in 25 matches. Each premium user's personal stats page shows those cuts so you can decide when it's smarter to stop.

A third, less obvious use is comparison against the meta. If BrawlVision tells you that on your favorite map the brawler you play most has a global win rate of 53%, but your personal win rate with that brawler on that map has been at 45% for weeks, you have a clear lead: you're probably not "bad with that brawler" — something in your draft or your map rotation is failing you. Without history, you couldn't even formulate the question.

How we do it without touching your account

BrawlVision syncs your battle log by reading Supercell's public API against your Player Tag. We never ask for passwords or game credentials — the official API doesn't require authentication for the battles endpoint, just the tag. Every time the cron runs, it downloads the new battles the API exposes (the last 25), cross-references them with what's already in our database, and only saves the ones we hadn't seen.

That cron keeps your history current with no manual steps while sync is active. If you pause the service or cancel premium, your history stays as it was — we don't delete anything — and reactivating sync resumes where it stopped. The full methodology (poll frequency, dedup handling, retention policy) is documented on the methodology page.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Brawl Stars only show 25 battles?+

Supercell's public API only returns the last 25 matches per player through the battlelog endpoint. The game stores more internally but doesn't expose it. BrawlVision syncs your log before Supercell discards it and persists it to our database.

Can BrawlVision recover old battles?+

We can only save battles from the moment you start using the service — Supercell does not provide retroactive access. The sooner you activate tracking, the more history you'll collect.

Do I need to install anything?+

No. BrawlVision runs in the browser. Sign in with Google, link your Player Tag, and it syncs in the background. We never ask for your Supercell password.
